Kaleidoscope Enrichment Director, Sandra Roberts, provides tutoring for students in need of additional academic support — either because they are struggling or because they want to get ahead. Presently, she offers tutoring on the following topics:
- Math Grades 5-8
- Science Grades 5-8
- Algebra 1
Sandra Roberts is a biochemist and writer who became a teacher about 8 years ago. She is NJ Certified with specializations in math and science. She has tutored for students at Blairstown Elementary School, North Warren Regional Middle/High Schooland Ridge and Valley Charter School, Reverend Brown School and Warren County Community College as well as homeschoolers. While a full-time teacher at Rev. Brown, she taught middle school algebra to students with IEPs and revamped the program to create an engaging integrated science and math program that better suited their needs. Reference are available upon request.
Generally, tutoring sessions are broken up into time spent on basic skills, homework help and then creative challenges to extend the student’s learning, so that they end on a fun, happy, confident note. Puzzles and games are included often.
Sandra Roberts also supports the family as an advocate, attending IEP meetings and communicating with classroom teachers as needed. She also provides support between sessions, online and over the phone, as needed.
Tutoring begins as $30/hour. A sliding scale is available for families in need, and discounts are available if multiple students in the family need support. Typically, Sandra Roberts meets with students in your home or a public space, such as a library, as convenient for you.
